Beating the January Blues in 4 Simple Steps

Beating the January Blues

For those of us born in January, there is nothing depressing about our birthdays being right around the corner. For everyone else, January is one of the most dismal months of the year. Every once in a while, us queens born right after New Year’s choose to ignore the fact that our birth month isn’t the most popular out there, and offer advice to those suffering from January blues in the hopes of killing their depression, and making them realize that no matter what part of the year it is, great memories can be created when you least expect it. I mean, there is no denying the fact that sitting by the fireplace and sipping wine in a cabin in the woods with your latest crush can shake you to the core, especially if you end up being snowed in and have to extend your weekend getaway by another day or two, right? Plus, if you’re not crushing on anyone at the moment, free BBW dating options don’t stop being enticing just because it’s cold outside! That’s why I’d like to propose my top 4 simple yet effective ways to make the most out of this period leading right up to Valentine’s Day.

#1: Go Out With Your Friends

The party never stops, not even in January when most people are exhausted after a hectic holiday season, are reluctant to go back to work, and have pockets slightly less deep than usual after having purchased all those presents. On the other hand, going out for a warm cup of hot cocoa with a group of your closest friends will make you forget all about the winter blues, and remind you to appreciate the little things in life, such as feeling the warmth on your face when you walk into a small coffee shop from -10°C outside.

#2: Clean Out Your Kitchen

This is the perfect time of year to do a little cleaning. Spring cleaning is such a waste of time when all you want to do is be outside every chance you get. Also, try de-cluttering your place in the summer without melting right into the carpet! Alternatively, spend some time throwing out all the unnecessary items from your kitchen and entire apartment when it’s hard to get people to join you on any outdoor adventures unless they’re huge skiing fans who can’t wait to hit the road and go up North on a much-anticipated winter vacation. In that case, forget your kitchen and join them!

#3:  Actively Look for Love

Even though true love often strikes when you least expect it, there is a much higher chance to meet someone if you set your mind to it than if you don’t. Anyone who wants to meet a BBW like you will be on the web, out in bars, and in all those places where cute girls like yourself are frequently seen. That’s why it’s a good idea to brush up on your online dating skills, coupled with going out on the weekend to your favorite places. If you haven’t tried going out by yourself yet, early 2019 is the perfect time to break out of your shell and do it! If you have a bar or a club where you’re a regular and people know you, it’ll be that much easier to dress up on a Saturday night and hit the town without your friends in tow.

#4: Live Your Own Life Instead of Someone Else’s

Turn off all social media for a while and try living your own life for a change. Stop checking out the people who make you feel bad about yourself, your secret crushes you’ll never reveal your true feelings to, and all those posers who pretend their lives are 10 times more fabulous than they actually are. Hang out with the people who fill your heart with joy, who love and understand you, and do those things that you’ve always wanted to do this year to make it the most memorable one yet.
